Belgian Chocolate…

Zamali is a Belgian DJ and producer. The “I Don’t Know Why You Put Your Hands In The Air EP” is one of his early works and one of his best, to be honest. It includes two hot tracks full of funky breaks and soul and guarantees that will take you higher than the Eiffel. It’s rare shit anyway, so grab it… 3.5/5.

Para Todos…

Para is a Swindon-based DJ and producer and for the past years he’s part of the Breakin’ Bread family. “It’s The Hornet/ The Hideaway EP” was released back in 2008 and it’s a fine introduction with the musician, if you haven’t heard him by now. Hip hop beats and breaks with funky and latin grooves, all beautifully combined, as the sound of today wants to be aggressive and also sweet… 3/5.

Bongolian Candidate…

”Outer Bongolia” is the third album of The Bongolian aka Nasser Bouzida and was released in 2007. What you can find here? Psychedelic grooves dipped into funk and jazz, latin soul and bongo rhythms served with breaks and big beat. Great production and a free ticket to travel to the sound of the past. The Bongolian is one hell of a musician and knows well how to merge classic music genres with a dancefloor attitude. Don’t miss this (if you don’t have it, already)… 4/5!

The Spanish Style…

Today we travel to Spain. Los Rumbers are two amigos who love Spanish folk music. One day they decided to give it a dancing twist and “Flamenco Breaks” was finally born. Do you like latin? Or flamenco? Or even funk? Ok, then this is the place to be. Add in the mixture some hip hop beats and breaks and you’ve got one of the sweetest and craziest albums you’ve ever heard. Kudos to our brothers in Spain! 4/5!

Human Sound…

Manmade Recordings made an entrance back in 2009 with the compilation “Manmade Feature Funk Vol.1″. Having a great experience in funk, breaks and electronica, Manmade collects a number of well known artists, in order to create new music, to sample old tracks and to make dancefloors much more exciting. The first part of the series include Quasamodo and Funkanomics. So, you know what to expect. Mayhem and disembowel! 3.5/5.

The Dub Stories…

Do you like Dub Pistols? Or maybe Stereo MCs? Well, Dreadzone go a long way back. This UK band set the standards for the dub/ reggae breaks in England. “Once Upon A Time” is their 2005 album, which includes more contemporary sound. Either way it doesn’t fail to initiate a yard trip to the past, with sounds, samples and loops that will bring tears in your eyes for no special reason. Dreadzone, I like! “Once Upon A Time”, I like more! Go on, and listen! 4/5!
